International Lesbian Day

Event Details

International Lesbian Day is celebrated annually on October 8th to provide a dedicated occasion for lesbians worldwide to celebrate their history, culture, and diversity, and to foster community and awareness. The day offers a chance for lesbians, allies, and supporters to connect, support lesbian-focused charities, and acknowledge the resilience and contributions of the lesbian community. While its exact origin is uncertain, it is believed to have started in Australia or New Zealand, with the first Australian event in Melbourne in 1990.

We have a series of ‘bitesize’ training sessions that you can use to support a ‘Day of Significance’ activity, or support an initiative focusing on a specific part of the LGBTQ+ Community. Speak to your Relationship Manager for more information.
