Australia’s Benchmark for LGBTQ+ Inclusion in Health & Wellbeing

The Health + Wellbeing Equality Index (HWEI) is Australia’s only benchmarking tool dedicated to LGBTQ+ inclusion in the health and human services sector. It serves as:

  • A structured roadmap, supporting organisations in embedding LGBTQ+ inclusive practices;
  • A submission-based assessment, allowing services to measure their progress and benchmark against sector peers;
  • A national employee survey which provides health and community care organisations with insights into the attitudes, beliefs, and experiences people within your organisation, regarding the provision of inclusive service to LGBTQ clients; and
  • A pathway to award nominations, celebrating leadership and excellence in LGBTQ+ health inclusion.

Together, these elements help shape safer, more inclusive, and equitable healthcare environments for LGBTQ+ communities.
